Physical Therapy: Frequently Asked Questions
- Do I work with a Physical Therapist every visit or just the first visit (evaluation)?
You will work with YOUR Physical Therapist EVERY VISIT. You will get one on one time with your physical therapist each visit because we believe in acustomized and personalized approach to patient care.
- Do I get to work with the same physical therapist all the time?
YES. We believe in keeping you with the same therapist as we believe that this provides for better consistency of care. The only time this does not happen is when the patient requests a change (usually due to scheduling issues).
- Will I be doing the same thing every visit?
NO. The rehabilitation plan of care follows a careful progression as determined by the physical therapist. We monitor each patient’s response to treatment and adjust the treatment plan on a visit to visit basis. Our goal is to help each patient reach their goals in the shortest amount of time.
- Do you do hands on treatment or will it be just exercise?
All of our physical therapists have extensive training in manual therapy which is a treatment philosophy that utilizes hands on techniques to normalize dysfunctional soft tissue and joints. The necessity and amount of “hands on” treatment is specific to the needs of each individual patient.
- How long do the sessions last?
Plan for roughly an hour. This varies depending on what a patient can tolerate and what their individual needs are.
